Fundamental to Ube Industries' multifaceted research is the development
of supporting technologies and techniques. A good example is chemical engineering
in fine chemicals. Most fine chemical products are made through the process
of refining crystals which are generated by synthesis reactions. Accordingly,
producing larger and purer crystals is an important theme, and computer
aided engineering (CAE) plays a key role in designing this process.
CAE is also useful in plastics engineering. It contributed to product
design and mold geometry decisions for automobile air-intake manifolds
made from Nylon 6 by evaluating the level of burst strength and optimum
molding conditions, thus reducing the number of prototypings and the time
required for development.
Ube Indutries is developing a comprehensive CAE technology to facilitate
the design of automotive component modules. This allows the design of conjugated
components by advancing the design technology of dynamic behavior such
as crash-proofing, noise suppression and vibration prevention as well as
the design technology based on the knowledge of material characteristics.
Evaluation and analysis of new materials are supported by our affiliate,
