Dielectric filter for mobile telecommunications
In the field of electronic materials, Ube Industries is developing nextgeneration high-frequency devices for wireless communication. These devices include, miniature, thinner filters and duplexers for cellular phones using dielectric ceramics and piezoelectric thin films.
The ceramic multilayering technnology is vital if such goals as miniaturization and higher performance are to be attained. We are fablicating prototype integrated components by using materials and circuit design specially developed for multilayering.
"Tyranno fibers®", inorganic silicon carbide fibers, come in heat-resistant and semiconductor grades. An example of the former type, "Tyranno fiber SA®", demonstrates heat-resistance to temperatures as high as 2000ºC. We are striving to bring these fibers into practical use in advanced composites molding for gas turbine components, aircraftcomponents, exhaust-gas treatment filters, and other products.
With the polymer for "Tyranno fibers®", Ube Industries has developed heat-resistant coating materials that stand up to 1,000ºC. We are developing applications by taking advantage of such characteristics as excellent heat resistance, corrosion resistance, electrical resistance, and far-infrared radiation.
For silicon nitride that is endowed with particle-specific surface properties, we are to control particle size and morphology at nanometers level.
Ube Industries is also devoting its energies to the development of products related to distributed energy systems.
For fuel-cell components, Ube Industries is developing gas diffusion electrodes using porous carbon membranes and heat-resistant proton-conductive solid polymer electrolytic membranes.
For thermoelectric conversion, We have developed the world's largest module made of bismuth-tellurium material, achieving highly efficient thermoelectric conversion with hot exhaust gas from diesel generators and trucks.
