Ube Industries, Ltd. today announced that the company received a notification from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Ltd. (LRQA) of rescinded suspension of overall scope of certification following reduction of the scope of certification regarding its Chemicals Company’s ISO 9001:2015 certification as the result of an audit by LRQA. The notification is dated October 15, 2018. Ube Industries had been informed on April 17, 2018 by LRQA of a partial withdrawal of scope of certification and a suspension of overall scope of certification following reduction of the scope of certification for the Chemicals Company’s ISO9001:2015 certification.
The audit did not cover the partial withdrawal of scope of certification affecting the Chiba Petrochemical Factory and Ube-Maruzen Polyethylene Co., Ltd. However, efforts continue to regain certification.
With regard to the improprieties in quality checks and the recent suspension of ISO9001 certification, Ube Industries expresses again its deepest regrets for causing inconvenience and concern to customers and other stakeholders. The company is endeavoring to regain trust by taking concrete measures to prevent a recurrence and by operating a reliable quality management system.
