Ube Industries, Ltd. today announced its informal decision to change one of its representative directors.
The change will be formally decided at a general meeting of the board of directors after the ordinary general meeting of shareholders, scheduled for June 27, 2003.

There are also plans for the President and Representative Director, Kazumasa Tsunemi, to take on the role of chairman of the board of directors, and for the current chairman of the board of directors, Maomi Nagahiro, to become a senior advisor.
