Engagement Meeting between Outside Directors and Institutional Investors

In March 2024, we held our second Engagement Meeting between outside directors and institutional investors.

The meeting was held between five outside directors (and the chairman of the board and director) and five institutional investors with the aim of deepening mutual understanding.

At this meeting, the second following the one in December 2020, discussions were held under the themes of “Effectiveness of the Board of Directors” and “Growth strategies of the UBE Group,” with topics ranging from succession planning to outside directors’ awareness of the challenges of becoming a specialty chemicals company. Both sides actively exchanged opinions, with the outside directors also asking questions about the views of institutional investors.

The meeting, which lasted for 90 minutes, was well received by the institutional investors in attendance, who commented that the relaxed atmosphere made it useful for exchanging concerns and questions, and that they were able to confirm the outside directors’ views on growth investment and the pace of structural reform. The UBE Group will continue to work to increase its corporate value through various dialogues with stakeholders.
